The Benedetič winery is located on the outskirts of the Goriške Brd, in western Slovenia, bordering the Italian wine-growing area of Collio, where the Briška landscape slowly meets the lowlands of Friuli-Julia.
The knowledge of viticulture and winemaking has been passed down from generation to generation in the Benedetic family since 1923, when Valentin Keber and his son-in-law Andrej Benedetic bought 2 hectares of vineyards from the bankrupt Count Teuffenbach, which still bear the name Brgalotišče.
Today, the farm manages 12 hectares of vineyards in the best locations in Bris. They are also located in 12 different locations, and the peculiarities of each micro-location give the wines an extremely wide range of diversity and character.
In the case of white varieties, we pay special attention to the domestic varieties of ribolla (ribolla gialla) and sauvignonasse (formerly tocai friulano, tai), while our range of products also includes international varieties of chardonnay, pinot gris and others. Among the red varieties, we are particularly proud of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
