Last minute DOK Brda 2023 info

We’re already counting down to the weekend when we’ll finally be back in Brda, in the best company of our local winemakers.

This year, we’ll be indulging in the aromas and flavours of their special wine stories. To make sure you save time on D-Day and instead try a few more wine samples, we recommend you check out our last-minute info.

If you don’t have your tickets yet, you can buy them from our online shop From 1 June onwards, tickets are available at the regular price, as follows:

Tickets are valid for one person and include a wine glass, a wine glass holder bag and a wristband.
With your ticket you will receive at least 4 tasting samples at each winery.

2. Do I need a user account?

Last year we introduced user accounts, but this year you won’t need one: neither to buy your tickets nor on the day of the tasting, because we want Open Cellar Days in Brda to be a wine celebration you can enjoy and where your phone can rest peacefully in your bag or pocket. Well, except when you must take a super cool photo. 😊

So no registration or account creation is required.

3. Where do I pick up my glass?

We will be handing out the glasses at our starting point, Grad Dobrovo – Dobrovo Castle, on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June from 9am onwards. We strongly recommend arriving a little earlier to avoid waiting, as there is usually a big crowd at the last minute. If you arrive early, just take advantage of the sightseeing: stop in the village of Šmartno or climb the Gonjače tower for a marvellous view of the surroundings.

4. How to get from the winery to the winery?

Bus transport is organized again this year, but beware…

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Bus tickets are sold out!

We currently operate with maximum bus availability, meaning we have hired the maximum number of buses and vans for the roads of Brda.
So, unfortunately, bus tickets are no longer available and will not be available on the day of the event – on Saturday and Sunday.

What are the alternatives?

  • To avoid crowds and especially drink-driving, we advise you to take your own transport from the winery to the winery. Surely there will be someone with you who doesn’t drink but likes to listen to stories and enjoys the atmosphere?
  • If any of your friends have a van, all the better because there’s more than one way to get around!
  • You can also go from winery to winery on electric bikes. For the more adventurous, you can even go without electricity. Who dares?
  • The wineries are spread out in different districts, so you can make a plan in advance and focus on nearby areas. Park in the district of your choice and walk from winery to winery.

The list of all the participating wineries is published on our website, where you can also find a map to help you find your way around.

There is also a taxi service which will be happy to take you from site to site or your chosen accommodation at the end of the day. Call Taxi Brda at 00386 51-366-182.

While the Open Cellar Days are a tasting event, you will be tasting beverages, so please note that drink-driving is one of the main risk factors for a car accident. Make sure you keep safe – both for yourself and for others.

5. I’ll surely be hungry ... Where can I eat something good?

Some winemakers will also offer you something to eat.

The gastronomic offer is not included in the ticket price and is payable separately at the individual winery. A list of wineries offering snacks will be published on the map shortly. If you are hungry, we recommend some of the local farms, restaurants and inns listed in the LIST
